I bought Nicaraguan Eagle as the prospect of barrel aged coffee seemed interesting and enjoyable. When the coffee arrived, the coffee did have that distinct "barrel aged" aroma I was familiar with in beer, but the flavor left something to be desired. The coffee had an unsual sweetness, but the lighter roast didn't really back that sweetness up. Not great, but not the worst coffee I've ever has.
Love, love, love the the undertones of the wood barrel flavors in this coffee. Waiting (not so) patiently for it to come back in stock. Definitely my all time favorite.
I just tried it this weekend, I enjoyed it but rest of my family did not. I enjoyed the coffee because it had a taste like a Irish coffee, it seems to have whiskey taste that's why it reminds me of it and that's why the rest of family did not like. I did add some cream in my wife's and then she enjoyed it.
Just starting to try these type of coffees, and enjoyed the interesting flavor. Got whole bean and ground myself. Will definitely get again.
I'm new to the whole craft coffee scene, but I have to say this is one delicious cup of brew. I'm looking forward to the next release for sure.
